Reflections on Year One, Visions for Year Two
If it has felt a little quiet around here lately, it’s because it was. Life has a way of demanding stillness sometimes. Between navigating the annual hurdles of city and health department approvals and saying a heavy goodbye to a beloved member of our family—our cat—I needed to step away from the noise to focus on the home.

But even in the quiet, there was growth. I’ve spent these last few weeks perfecting recipes and finalizing a menu that I am so incredibly proud of. More than just a list of new offerings; it’s a renewal of why I started De Nuestra Mesa in the first place: to bring something nourishing, handcrafted, and intentional to your table.
From Under the Radar to Official
There is a certain freedom in the early days of baking at home—the "flying under the radar" phase where you're just baking for friends and family. I have so much love for that stage, but as I entered Year Two, I knew I wanted this business to be a legitimate part of the Citrus Heights food community.
The path to becoming a fully permitted, city-approved, and health-department-regulated business is paved with paperwork and fees. It was a steep climb, but standing on this side of the approvals, the peace of mind it brings both me and my customers is worth every form I had to sign.
What’s New at the Table?
Our expanded menu features a collection of flavors born from a desire to bring something delicious, comforting, and sometimes spicy to your meals.
Signature Sourdoughs: Now available in varieties ranging from savory Garlic Rosemary to the indulgent Double Chocolate Chip.
Breakfast Essentials: We’ve added a full line including hand-rolled bagels and our hearty Brown Bread.
Marranitos: A new addition very close to my heart. These gingerbread pigs are the soul of this menu—a tribute to heritage and the "Full Table" we are building together.

A Loaf for Every Neighbor
Part of building a "Full Table" means ensuring there is a seat for everyone. You may notice that our French bread is priced specifically to be as accessible as possible. It is important to me that no one in our community goes hungry. This loaf is my way of making sure that regardless of the season you are in, there is always a fresh, handcrafted loaf waiting for you.

The Launch Details
We are officially launching the new menu on May 5th (5/5). To ensure I can give every loaf and pastry the attention it deserves, pre-orders will open this Friday.
Thank you for staying with me through the quiet. I can't wait to see these bakes in your homes.
