Ostara

(Spring Equinox, March 20th – 21st)

Theme: Balance, fertility, renewal.
 

Description: Ostara is the celebration of the spring equinox, when day and night are equal. It symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. Seeds are planted—both literally and metaphorically—and the Earth begins to awaken. It’s a time of growth and renewal, with traditions like egg decorating and planting seeds.

 

  • Ritual Focus: Balance, renewal, fertility, and planting intentions for growth.

  • Colors: Pastels like green, yellow, lavender, and pink to reflect the fresh energy of spring.

  • Herbs and Crystals: Lavender, rosemary, daffodil, moonstone, and clear quartz for clarity, fertility, and renewal.

  • Activities:

    • Decorate eggs to symbolize new life and possibilities.

    • Plant seeds or seedlings in your garden or in pots to cultivate growth.

    • Meditate on areas of your life needing balance and set intentions for harmony.

Worm Moon
(March)

The Worm Moon provides an opportunity to reflect on your own personal growth, release what is no longer serving you, and embrace the opportunities for renewal that spring offers. Whether through rituals, spells, or mindful reflection, it’s a perfect time to set new intentions and lay the foundation for what you hope to cultivate in your life.

  • Ritual Focus: Cleansing, releasing old energy, and setting intentions for new growth.

  • Colors: Earthy tones like browns, greens, and soft yellows to represent the thawing earth and emerging life.

  • Herbs and Crystals: Sage, lavender, basil, citrine, and moss agate to promote clarity, grounding, and renewal.

  • Activities: Write down what no longer serves you and burn the paper safely to release it. Plant seeds, symbolizing the new goals and intentions you wish to grow.

Pink Moon 

(April)

The Pink Moon symbolizes renewal, love, and blossoming abundance, coinciding with the vibrant growth of spring. Named after the blooming pink wildflowers of the season, this full moon encourages you to embrace self-love, nurture relationships, and plant seeds of creativity and passion. It’s an ideal time to reflect on how you’re blooming in your own life and to celebrate the beauty in growth, no matter how small.

  • Ritual Focus: Self-love, emotional balance, gratitude, and strengthening relationships.

  • Colors: Soft pinks, pastel purples, and whites to evoke the tender, floral energy of the season.

  • Herbs and Crystals: Rose petals, jasmine, thyme, rose quartz, and moonstone for promoting love, balance, and emotional healing.

  • Activities: Take a self-care bath infused with pink and white flowers or essential oils. Write affirmations of love and gratitude and place them on your altar or under the moonlight.

Beltane  

(April 30th – May 1st)

Theme: Passion, fertility, union.

Description: Beltane marks the height of spring and the fertile period of the year. It celebrates life, passion, and sexuality, and is traditionally a time for handfastings (Wiccan weddings). The Maypole dance is a common celebration, symbolizing unity and fertility.

  • Ritual Focus: Passion, fertility, creativity, and union.

  • Colors: Bright, fiery tones like red, orange, yellow, and green to celebrate vitality and fertility.

  • Herbs and Crystals: Hawthorn, rose, vanilla, garnet, carnelian, and emerald for passion, energy, and abundance.

  • Activities:

    • Light a bonfire or candles to honor the fire element and vitality.

    • Dance around a Maypole or create your own ribbon-wrapped display.

    • Celebrate love and connection through handfasting rituals or acts of gratitude for loved ones.

    • Make floral garlands or crowns to wear during celebrations.

Flower Moon
(May)

The Flower Moon represents abundance, fertility, and manifestation as it marks the peak of spring’s vibrant energy. This is a time to honor the full bloom of nature and the progress you’ve made in your personal goals. The Flower Moon encourages us to celebrate our own growth, appreciate the beauty around us, and focus on gratitude for the fruits of our labor.

  • Ritual Focus: Prosperity, creativity, gratitude, and manifestation.

  • Colors: Bright florals like yellows, oranges, and vibrant greens to reflect the lush energy of blooming flowers.

  • Herbs and Crystals: Dandelion, chamomile, mint, amethyst, and emerald for attracting abundance, clarity, and peace.

  • Activities: Create a flower mandala or bouquet as an offering to nature. Meditate under the moonlight and visualize your goals coming to fruition.
