The Love Story Behind This Journey: Our Family, Our Foundation

Hi there! I’m Cimberly, and I’m so glad you’ve stumbled upon this little space of ours. Let me introduce you to the man who makes all of this possible: Moses.

Now, where do I even begin with him? Moses is my dream weaver. He’s the man who hears what I need before I even ask for it—whether that’s picking up a shovel for a garden project or making me the best steak breakfast burrito (seriously, it’s life-changing). After that meal, I knew I was a goner. We were practically betrothed over that burrito. And let’s not forget he’s incredibly good-looking, so he provided the prettiest children, too. (I’m not biased, I swear.)

But it’s more than his charm and cooking skills. It’s his heart. When I went from working full-time to deciding to take a step back, then unexpectedly pregnant again, our respective sobriety journey with alcohol, two Autism diagnoses, and him eventually leaving his steady job to preserve our mental health, Moses didn’t hesitate. He showed up. When I said, “Let’s homeschool our kids and go off-grid,” he was ready to go. No questions, no hesitation. He’s my partner in every sense, my right hand, my biggest supporter. We’re Team Sanchez, not just in name but in everything we do. (By the way, we still live in town and have an account with every utility company Citrus Heights offers, so some dreams have a more long-term vision and execution.)

And now, we're building our dream together. This is our haven, our Havenstead—a place where we can grow roots, nurture dreams, and provide safety for our children. Moses is my safe haven. He’s the rock I lean on. Together, we’re turning our suburban micro-farm into a space where our kids can thrive, where the seeds we plant today will one day grow into the life we’ve dreamed of—a (tiny) homestead where love, nature, and intentional living intersect.

And this blog? Well, it’s part of our story, part of the love we’re still building. It's a roadmap to creating something everlasting. It’s the place where we leave notes for ourselves and for anyone who’s following along on this journey. It’s about taking the steps to live intentionally, to create a life that’s not just for us, but for our children too. It’s about turning dreams into reality, one brick at a time—whether that's building a homestead, growing our own food, or sharing moments of joy around the table.

Moses and I are the foundation of everything here, but this journey isn’t just ours. Our children, Phoenix and Reign, are at the heart of it all. While they may not be at the forefront of every post, their presence shapes every decision we make, every seed we plant, and every loaf of bread we bake.
